Approximately forty physicians participated in the inaugural event of the Israeli Doctors of New York on March 2nd, 2017 in Manhattan.
Thanks to this participation and suggestions the event was a great success. We received overwhelmingly positive feedback.
We thank the President of Israel Rubi Rivlin for his warm support of our initiative, as expressed in his video address. We extend our gratitude to Israeli Academy Award Winner Mili Avital for her support and sharing her moving story with the group. Mili emphasized the benefit of being cared for by a physician in her native tongue and a familiar cultural setting, particularly during sensitive life events.
While Hila Kulik, an Israeli Jazz pianist, set a pleasant atmosphere with background music, Noga Milstein and Eyal Berger added a comedic touch with a segment of the upcoming play “Nextstop”.
Undoubtedly, the highlight of the event was the warm interaction between the doctors present. Physicians from different fields of medicine attended including Ob/Gyn, Reproductive Medicine and Infertility, Plastic Surgery, Hematology, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Urology, Breast Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Pain Medicine, and Orthopedics. Spectacular hummus, falafel, shawarma, and Israeli salad topped the evening off.
